GS-911 Update out (Rear Lights)

Had a bit of time with the GS 911 and my 2024 GSA today, concentrating specifically on the rear running lights. I have finally settled on them set to 70% (down from 100%) intensity for their brake light function. This is still slightly brighter than the centre brake light, but enables the indicators to be a little more visible whilst braking.
I’m out with a pal tomorrow, so will see what he thinks of the solution.

Yes you can change the mtrs traveled before the indicators cancel i spotted that the other day

I'd have like the option to make the std led indicators sequential , way behind the pack on that one

Playing Devils advocate

You've altered the brightness of a legally required lamp , because your worried that someone might not see an indicator

Ever thought what happens if an indicator fails on any vehicle ?? or you forget to use them ;)

Your insurer may take a dim view (no pun intended) if they find out you've been messing with legally required items

as Ive said before, a solution to a problem that never exsisted

The rear indicator lights, when acting as brake lights, are still brighter than the standard central brake light, which is all that pre 2021 bikes have. Are you saying that pre 2021 bikes are not safe?

Hi All

Bit late to the party but just for future readers, you can check our function chart for any queries regarding what's supported on your bike.

Regarding the auto cancel, for example, you can check the body controller on a R1250, which shows the supported features on that controller:

Kind regards and safe travels

Steve from "A bike thing" posted a good informative video last night on YT. Its do to with raffling his 1250GSA, however he goes through in some detail the GS911 adjustments that can be made to the running/brake lights. Very informative as he goes through all the options and settings that can be done.

I’m still experimenting with settings , with concern that any amount of reduced red running lights distracts from the rear centre brake light. Think I’m down to setting 2 and still too bright for the centre light ( much improved with indicators ) . Need to try setting 1 next or maybe off completely , like Steve has done .
Clear as mud eh ?

Anyone know if anything has changed re lights ?

To be clear ;I am very familiar with the April update, but am entirely confused with the latest update .
So I’ll ask again , perhaps differently , but importantly , ‘Is there any change in end result , re lights ,Sports Screen , or Heated grips that I need to know about ?’

Utter nonsense. The centre stop/tail light still functions exactly the same as on earlier bikes and conforms with Construction and Use Regulations. There is no 'legal requirement' to have additonal lights in the indicators.

Well said Number 6.
But … the centre light now only functions OEM as a brake light. ( On older bikes it functions as both Brake and running light )
That limitation can be corrected and activated as ‘RUNNING LIGHT’ using GS911
That then leaves those hideous red lights in the indicator stalks ( OEM set at 100% as ‘BRAKE LIGHT’ and at 10% for ‘REAR LIGHT’

In my opinion , those LED side brake lights drown out both the indicator and the centre brake light.

(They can be set at 0% rear light intensity to disable them GS911)

I’m yet to be convinced that they should be on at all, and as Number 6 says, no legal requirement.

I've set my 2024 GSA up as the bikes were pre-multifunction indicators. The light unit above the number plate is now tail light and stop light. The indicators are now just indicators, no cruising lights, no tail lights and no stop lights. Likewise for the front, cruising lights disabled, direction indicator function only. (y)

Likewise, people have commented on the improvement
