I have broken the plastic bits that form a V seal between the lower part and cover of GS aluminum panniers. Does anybody know if the part indicated by nr 7 (part no 71607712837) on this drawing is just a rubber gasket or something else?

Or if i can buy the plastic bits from somewhere and change them on the lid and bottom part?

I had a chip in the plastic v-piece on my BMW GSA Aluminium panniers. The dealer stated they are not a replaceable item.

Could you not try a silicone sealant carefully shaped to fix the problem?

Unfortunately no. The problem is with the plastic that is around the rubber gasket not with the rubber gasket (which can be ordered, it seems). And the damage to the plastic collar is too big - missing parts big, not just cracks. Aluminum parts are ok after a little bending, so i thought if i could buy the plastic collar and change that - i would be set. But it seems not.

My local dealer was of no help.

It is just a V shape rubber gasket.

Not much use if the plastic groove it sits in is broken.
How about plastic welding like used to mend fairings?:comfort

I fixed the chipped edges on mine with Araldite epoxy resin, shaping with a small file once set. A new rubber seal made it watertight again (once I had maniupulated the aluminium case back to the same shape as the lid).

A shame you cant buy a new plastic section and drill out/replace the rivets.
