After a 2 month wait my F800GS arrives tomorrow
I test rode one back in August and hummed about it for 2 long and the bugger got sold, so I had to wait for a local dealer to find me the right bike.
It arrives tomorrow 09 F800GS in Grey with 866 mile on the clock, Computer heated grips and centre stand.
Only trouble is I have 2 inch of ice on the road outside in Sheffield so I’m afraid it will be off the back of the van and straight in the garage next to my wife’s F650GS Twin.
I will have to sit with my face pressed against the window waiting for the temp to change and the ice to go.
I have spent the last 2 years with a Triumph tiger 955i and had a great time and done well over 20,000 and not forgetting Iron Butt Challenge 1000 mile in 24 hrs for the British Legion back in July.
But since Karen got her GS I have been jealous of the MPG she gets, and after taking it out for a couple of spins into Derbyshire I had to get one, but being well over 6 feet tall the F800 model made sense.
All we have to do now is fit hand guards and find a good second hand set of luggage and practice for our 3000 mile trip in the summer down to Italy and the South of France, and taking in Andorra on the way back.
I am impressed with the people and the interesting posts on this forum and look forward to meeting some of you guys soon.
