Hi, feeling it for anyone with a problem with their bike...
I moved from an 11 plate GSA to a September regd GS WC, first I struggled occasionally with getting neutral, dealer fitted new push rod at first service, don't think it made an immediate difference, but after maybe 1500 miles no more sticky problems..
Now me as opposed to most on here, with my GSA I found lots of neutrals, it jumped in & out of gear, frightened the shit out of me, (more than once) that was till someone on here advised me to be more positive with my feet & gear changes, then no more problems, it was defo rider error.. (I'm not saying yours is, but mine WAS) & I had previously came off a F800Gs so I thought I knew BMWs
Now, this new bike, the WC GS, nav 5 saying 38,000+ gear changes! & not one missed gear, in fact slick I would say, requiring less effort on my part & much more care free attitude to gear changes.. Yes it clunks a tad into first gear at traffic lights, but I accept that as most wet clutch bikes I've had do the same (or worse)
One thing to check is the gear lever height adjustment, if it's too high your ankle may not have enough upward travel to engage gear properly, simple thing really but worth checking..
Also I agree with Todmeister & Nice n Fat to ride a demo bike to compare gearbox operation, but seriously have a look at lever adjustment..
Good luck & keep us informed..
Thanks for info! My bike is August 2013 build and registered in September. What you wrote about your 2013 LC is exactly what I'm experiencing with my bike. I will ring up few dealers ( excluding one in central london) and my existing one, in chance to get test ride on either new GS or GSA! Closest to me are NOG and 2 south from London.
