Hi guys and gals I want to change my spoked wheels for alloy ones on my 2016 GS Triple Black and was wondering if any of you know whether there are wheels off of any other bmw models that will fit?

Yeah, try the BMW 750i
You'll get a 4 wheel set, but could always keep 2 spare for special occasions

Try Motorworks, they are always breaking bikes, but a bit pricey at £700 for a pair.

Then you need a set of discs
For a straight swap you need r1200gs lc alloy wheels (per lc wheels are different ) , rears are relatively cheap from E Bay as very few people stuff a gs into something solid whilst travelling backwards , fronts are usually a lot dearer.
As well as Motorworks you could try James Sherlocks or adevertise in the wanted section on here, also ring around a few main dealers .
In the past have seen them with slightly cosmetically challenged items swapped off trade ins /warranty claims etc that normal punters would just have powder coated .

Just a note , when powder coating these wheels make sure you use a coater that understands the stripping process as the alloy on the new wheels seems a bit soft , so a normal wheel / car wheel coater would dip the alloy for longer .
Its something I was advised by the guy that coated mine , he is ex Dymag wheels and advised a monitored strip not a long soak.

No you don’t, at least i didn’t with my Hexhead. I just used the same discs as they came of my spoked wheels. Are the LCs different

I have a set of alloys if you want to swap, low mileage, with discs, sensors etc.

I had discs as well due to wanting to use both sets , can see the swap if your only going to shelve the others . I did not wish to sell the spokes on.
When I was looking I could not find a set with discs.

I kept my spoked ones so that when i sold the bike on i could put it back to standard. It was a 90th anniversary model so didnt want to fuck with it too much.

Right then, good news is that thanks to GB I now have a set of Granite Grey alloy wheels for my bike, I met up with him at the services just off the A1M near Durham this weekend and we did the swap as he wanted a decent set of spoked wheels for his bike
There was some discussion on another thread about TPMS sensors not reading when new wheels or sensors are fitted, I have discovered two things, first is that if you have a GS911 it will display the sensor codes as programmed to the bike, second thing is that if you are having trouble waking the tyre pressure sensors up that have been fitted to your bike, even if you have programmed them to your bike with the GS911 you can buy a wake up tool like this off of flea bay for around £6, it is sold for GM/Vauxhall cars but the sensors are the same frequency as the BMW ones fitted to some bikes

I know some people prefer the look of spoked wheels but I think these alloy wheels look fantastic on my Triple Black and boy are they easy to clean

Was nice to meet you Neil, and yes they look good, just noticed we have the same seats as well.
I must be the only tosser on here with two sets of spokes for the same bike! I haven't fitted mine yet as the STRs on the silver wheels still have a bit of life in them yet. Once the michelins that are fitted to your old black wheels are worn out I will fit STRs, these are great on the road and happy enough on light to medium trails, as for my old silver spokes they will hopefully get the full Pirelli rallyes for off road use only. I'm sure you will notice the difference with the lighter wheels and the scorpion II tyres.
