GS Maintenance Course in Wales.

As some of you may have already picked up from THIS THREAD Slimbo has kindly offered to hold a GS specific maintenance course on a Saturday in January (date to be arranged) in Swansea.

Slimbo suggests that "it will be a basic servicing day with practical. Lunch will be provided and all for a nominal fee. A veggie option will be available on the lawn. Once any costs are coverd then all spare dosh to be given to a local childrens charity" to include

1. Checking oil and fluid levels
2. changing oil filter
3. changing spark plugs
4. replacing brake pads and components
5. fixing punctures
6. jump starting
7. tappet adjustment
8. tps setting (I'm sure he will explain to me what that is)
9. throttle body balancing

Gipsy, Elvie and myself have already put our names down for this, so if you're interested please add your name to this thread. Realistically I would have thought that we will need at least 8-10 to justify Slimbo giving up a Saturday.

I would be interested in this course except that i am away for all january

A figure of £35 a head has been mentioned so far, but we will confirm / amend this when Slimbo has finalised things with the owner. Slimbos PM says this will include a BBQ, unlimited tea and coffee (so nobody will starve) and "handouts". The PM doesn't specifically mention it, but there's sure to be a good "craic" as the Irish say if you stick a bunch of Tossers in a shed with a bike and feed them. Slimbo is giving his time for free, so the charge will be to cover the costs - with any surplus going to a local charity. He needs to check his AA roster before giving us a definite date in January. I've already checked and there are no rugby internationals in January, so that's one headache we won't have to worry about.

Bear with us folks, now that we know this is a runner, we will get back here soon with definite dates and cost.

I'm guessing that Slimbo will demonstrate on his 1150 GS Adventure, but I can take mine as well if it's needed.
