GS-pd. side stand problem..

Are the engine spacers in the right way round? Mine ere different thickness on each side.

John

Good Question John, I think I have the slimmer ones at the back and thicker one at front... don't know if this is right or wrong, i put them back the way they came out when i strippewd the bike ." I think"

I think the same thickness should be on the same side... Mine are. Not certain though.
My thinner ones are on the right. That would move your motor over a bit;)

Looks to me 3 spacer are of the same size, the 4th one is slightly bigger (that is number 3 on the max bmw diagram) So am I correct in thinking that the wider spacer would fit s/stand side.:blast

I would say so. Microfiche pictures are usually (IIRC) presented as if you are looking from the front and to the nearside (left) of the vehicle.
So that would put the big spacer where the sidestand mounts.

Swapped mine over today... the thick one was on the NS (in France:D).
That would explain why the sump plate was so near the exhaust:(

Some photos - better late than never

They are not great, but do show distance between side stand and collector box, plus one washer, (I think - but the Bike is not with me).

Maybe you have it sorted by now
