I have just fitted some lower pegs and am in the process of adjusting the rear brake lever downwards.

Is there a specific amount of free play required at the brake cylinder before the cylinder engages relative to the stop position of the lever? There does not seem to be any reference to this in previous threads or the 1200GS CD.

This is a bit difficult to explain without showing but basically if you are adjusting th elever down at the front you will need to shorten the link rod so that the brake is not under pressure all the time. 1 or 2 mm freeplay should be sufficient but chek your disc after a long run trying not to use the brakes cutting the engine and coasting to a stop in gear If it's hot you haven't done it right If it's cool then all is well!

You may also need to bend the brake switch "tang" as well or it may be on all the time too!

A couple of mm seemed to make sense to me too, but I am surprised there is no set distance given the operation of the servo system. The brake temperature test is a good idea!

The rear adjustment is now almost as far as it will go. Rather than bend the tang I am going to fit a longer screw to take up the slack at the front switch. See how it goes later.
