GS running costs

Hi Guys,

Me again, can any of you that do similar miles commuting give me an idea of running costs for a typical year. As mentioned I'm doing circa 450 a week plus weekend riding.

Hi,

Tyres are now 9000 miles old (Tourences) and still have plenty of life left in them. Get about 50-55 mpg motorway commuting at about 80ish. Only had the 1 service so far 6000 mile and that was about £200. Dealer suggested i wouldnt need the annual serve ice as i would have at least 2 a year anyway.

I do 75 miles a day commuting into London. Very cheap to run so far, i tend to get my bike serviced by Steptoe of Putney on this board, costs a lot less than main dealers and he has loan bikes.
As you are doing lots of miles all the savings on servicing add up even more if you do it yourself.

Just put a new rear tourance on for £100, i expect that to last for at least 10k.

In total i reckon i should only spend £500 a year on it if that
