Hi,
I want to fit a standard GSA screen onto my 2020 GS.
I know its a common modification but for those that have tried it, do i need screen supports/braces or will it be ok on its own?

I dont think the gsa has any other supports than the gs ??

Thanks all.

No - it will vibrate and wobble! I had to install a Cymarc screen brace. Easy, quick and effecxtive

I have the same with puig supports and works fine.

I’ve got an OEM GSA screen on my standard GS, been on there for years with no extra braces fitted

Yes it wobbles about but no more than the standard screen, they have the same support

Before changing the standard screen on my GS e even thought the standard screen wobbled too much for my liking. I have the braces on both sides now.

After fitting the GSA screen to my GS, I too fitted the Cymarc stabilisers which significantly reduced the wobble on the screen

Thanks.
I have ordered the GSA screen so will try it first and see what its like.
Dont want to spend the £60 ish for the braces if not 100% sure.
The cymarc ones look good though - watched the youtube video.

I’ve not found a need for screen braces on my 2 GSAs with the standard, or MRA Vario Touring screens. I did fit some to my first LC GS back in 2016, but they weren’t really necessary and they never got transferred over.

If you do go for the Cymarc ones, check the supplied bolts. The ones supplied with mine had heads like cheese and easily rounded, especially the small ones for the screen itself.

I swapped my standard GS screen to a GSA screen last week, been out for a ride now, didn't notice any wobbles. No additional parts needed.

It depends how high you'll have it. I run mine at the mid height and its fine - no worse than the normal GS screen. If you will be running it at full height, probably need them for extra support.

Thats a good photo !
I plan on trying the GSA screen first, then adding a mini screen to the top if needed.
It will probably be ok most of the time but going to germany soon so might add the mini screen for the motorway parts of the ride.
I am only 5’ 7” but the turbulence just gets my helmet peak with the standard gs screen even set at high.

Never bothered with screen braces on my previous two water-cooled 1200GSAs, nor on my 1250GSA. Didn't even notice the wobble until someone on here mentioned it, then quickly forgot about it.

I have a larger Puig screen/extender and installed the Cymark braces as the wobble annoyed me. It is now rock steady

Anyone recommend a brace or stabilizer for my left and right jacket sleeve ? They wobble when I'm riding along. Just above the elbow. Grease.

The screen wobble is not a joke. There are members on this and US forum that ended up with broken bracket and that was very expensive to fix. The problem is even more serious if you have extension spoiler on your screen that makes it even havier. GSA screen may not be a problem but aftermarket screens that are bigger and havier may be.
