I know it's been done before but what are the pitfalls of changing the standard GS shocks to ADV ones on an 1150. Really would like the extra clearance but is there an issue with the drive shaft being too short and the centre stand also being too short.
How much increase in ground clearance is there between the two.
Cheers peeps.:thumb2

About 20mm difference in height i believe. The drive shafts have different part nos and the stands are longer.Hardly worth the expense i'd have thought.

i have fitted adv shocks on my gs and its fine had no probs at all the centre stand does not lift the wheels clear but it still works ok there is a set on ebay now ! (ive fitted hyperpro adv ones)

I saw the ones on fleabay hence I posted the thread :D

Have you noticed any benefit from doing the change. How has it affected the handling?

I was ready to do it, then my dealer (old school not a bull shooter) says tried it, got knoking from the drive shaft.

Help, oh yes I am "BIG, LIKE 20 STONE BIG" so it should sag ;);)

I thought you'd sold the GS?

Or are you getting ready to off road the RT:thumb
