GS Trophy - July 31st - Aug 1st

Just did the Level One offroad course with BMW in Wales on a 1200GS. It was a fantastic two days and I will definitely go back for Level Two and Three.

Judging by my time there I think you will all have a ball on June 4th to 6th. Just wish I could be there myself but I'm already committed elsewhere.
Have fun!

GS Trophy Dates changed and only £50

Hi Folks,

Is anyone doing this event? I was thinking of doing it on the GS Adventure ;-)

http://www.offroadskills.com/

Dear GS Trophy Competitor,

Dates for the BMW GS Trophy Qualifying UK have now been brought forward to 05-06 June 2010 to coincide with the Touratech Travel event that same weekend. A slight restructure to the GS Trophy Qualifying now means competitors will only pay £50 to enter and this is inclusive of bike hire.

We are aware that these dates may no longer be suitable to you, in which case we will refund you the entire amount paid. If, however, you would like to transfer your booking to the new dates we will refund you with the difference.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and look forward to hearing from you soon – 08000 131 282.

I was entered, but since the reorganisation I've phoned to withdraw my entry just waiting for a call back.
All entrants will now be divided into 4 groups, with each group competing in separate heats taking place on Saturday 5th June, at the Walters Arena.

The simple 2 hour test will begin with a breifing where instructors will offer riding hints and tips. Then each competitor will negotiate a specially designed course under the watchfull eye of Simon Pavey and his team of Judges.

The top 5 riders in each heat will then qualify for the final, tougher, riding test on Sunday 6th, all riding F800 GS bikes. The final 3 (judged tobe the best) will represent their country at the GS Trophy final in South Africa.

Its at Walters Arena, Glyn-Neath, nr. Brecon. 5th and 6th June (Sat/Sun).

Your entry fee of £50.00 includes use of BMW's bikes, you will ride 5 I believe, inc. the 1200GSA :)

What I cannot sort out is Personal Accident Insurance. Anyone any ideas?

Hi Chaps

I receive an email today informing me that I'm in the Group C. Do you know in which group will be you? Anyone riding on Friday from the South? Perhaps we can meet along the way. I'm coming from Berkshire.

Me and steve73 are heading down on the friday mate. not sure what time yet, if its a nice day we are thinking of taking in some nice welsh roads.
if its bad weather then just blast it down the motorway, i would of thought setting off about mid day if you want to join us, (please leave the brandy at home) if not see you down there.

Hiya mate,

-- er, yes, I suspect Courvoisier-induced hangovers and the GS Trophy type stuff are a nasty combination :blast Dunno about you, it will be bottles of Evian for me this weekend ;)

Shame I can't meet up at midday, but looking like I'm gonna head down with Doc Savage in the evening, both of us are working in Preston until 17:45-ish , so will meet up then head down. Im at the Ashcroft Inn though, but will probably kick about round the camp site until later on then head back to the Inn. Not sure how far the Inn is from the site, its supposed to be close?

Looking forward to it!

Hi Folks,
Is there a plan for going down on Friday afternoon evening?

Burt
