GS vs XR

I have an unmarked one at work! And yes ... it has been properly spanked ..!!!

It was BTW a genuine question rather than the usual passive aggressive type

Unmarked plod bike eh

That's interesting to know and should catch a few out

Don't forget it uses unleaded :D

Don’t panic, I don’t think it’ll be lurking in Scotland ...!

I didn't check, maybe it was the low seat one or something but I don't think so, my knees are bollocksed, def felt tiny compared to the GSA

Cramped? That surprising. I would equate the XR to the GS in terms of size. Smaller perhaps than the GSA, but could never call it very cramped.

(Are you sure you weren't on an Aprilia RSV Mille? :D)

Never thought the XR was cramped or uncomfortable and I have really tall legs...:D
Also the "bar-tingle" I never felt and thought my smoth GS-LC vibrates more.
As for lack of torque on the XR there is this thing called the shift-lever.Use it and the XR absolutely murders the GS as also 1290 KTM or Ducati MS !
The XR is the only superbike that is as practical and comfortable as the GS except for the dreaded chain...:D
What surprised me how much more fun to ride the S1000XR than the R was.
The XR was not more comfortable as in riding position or wind protection but due to the longer wheel base it even accelerated harder in lower gears where the S1000R just cut out or wheelie'd as also the XR steered quicker than the R while the specs suggest the opposite.
An absolute animal that probably never gets boring on the street. For the track the S1000RR would be still better though but on the street the XR will murder it and more fun/more comfortable/way more practical !
But I hold out for the 150hp+ "R1300XR"...:thumb
Hail to the shaft (and TL)...:bow
