has anyone with the wire wheels on new gs had any problems with them marking or streaking on the alloys ta

Washed mine and they didn't come up shiny clean so I am considering my next step, may reject the bike as unsuitable etc. Etc. .

think I know what you mean

Hi I think I know what you mean after washing then drying they get a blotchy white coating I just then use a small amount of wd40 or similar on a cloth to go over them then re-wipe over with a dry cloth, good as new.

obviously dont go mad with it as you dont want any on your tyres.

finish?

is there a finish..... on the spoke wheel rims???
or is that just bare alum.............????

Mr Sheen, even better than WD, quite scary what it removes....and leaves a nice smell :D

I wouldn't use WD40 on anything other than the can. I use Auto Glym Instant Show Shine on everything else. I suspect it's no better than Mr Sheen or Pledge etc but it makes me feel better.

I have a new front wheel on order from BMW (at their expense) after they cleaned it on my first service.

I see on their demo bike the front brake mounting block has also been mullered by whatever cleaning agent they use .....

Thanks that is what my wheels look like a white marks all over the rims thanks for all the advice guys ta

You entrust your bike to so called experts and they clean your bike and cause damage unbelievable ooh and then charge you for it. :blast

Great stuff is WD40 gets oil/grease off your t-shirts and grass stains off your knees when you've done the deed and smashed her back doors in.

To be fair to them they didn't bat an eyelid at my request for a new front wheel and immediately accepted liability. :thumb

That is bad. Must have used traffic film remover or something real strong. Autoglym bike cleaner is the best stuff for not marking alloy.

thats fine

That's fine but what about the rest of your bike, I bet you was livid.

Rest of the bike was fine - there were some tar spots on the wheel and I guess the cleaner thought that he'd spray on whatever they use and leave it to work for five minutes ...
