I've got private plates on my bikes, it is vanity but it's my money so I'm fine being vain.
My ex-wife is a diehard god-fearing church goer, I'm an atheist. It didn't stop her being a repeat adultery offender and worse still thinking a Frenchman was a suitable bloke to run off with.
I have X666 and my initials on a bike, unlike most, I'd like to display a bigger plate if I could - not that I'm bitter.
I then got X999 for another bike and put a plate I had on retention onto the new GS arriving this week. If I keep collecting bikes the next will be X69 I suppose.
None of these were really expensive plates and you get to keep them bike to bike so I think it's cool to have one. It also loses the age of the bike I guess.
