Ignition turned on yesterday and that whirry thingy noise came on...and then it stayed on....and when starter button pressed, rev counter all over the place. Turned of and on again and same thing. Engine fired but spluttered and died...still that whirry thingy noise. Turned it all off, put my Sat Nav onto my 14 year old Blackbird and rode off out into the Peaks.

Any help /pointers would be greatly received ( other than " try the search button Tim)

The rev counter behaviour points to Hall sensors. Can you describe the bike (ie year, miles, twin or single-spark - does it have an alarm etc)?

Hi Mike. Thanks for replying. Y reg GS1150, no alarm. Err, single spark.

Get's my vote. I bought a sensor for mine off a chap from Greece on eblag recently. Works perfectly and half the price of one from Motorworks etc.
