GS1200-2008 fuel tank converison

HI

Does anyone know if its possible to convert the gs 1200 -08 model with a lerger fuel tank. Eg converting ags 1200 to a adventure 33l tank??

I was quoted by BMW somehting about £2500!!! to do this with BMW original parts surely there has to be a cheaper way of doing this..

I know but unfortunatly it will not fitt the 08 models

£2500 does seem rather excessive, especially as the cost of converting a '04-'07 GS is in the region of £800 for the parts plus labour. I would suggest you take a look at this online fiche here :-

The model you need to select is the R1200ADV/M which should be the list for the '08 ADV. It will give you a rough idea of the prices of the parts.

This link gives instructions on doing the job including the part numbers. It's for the '04-'07 models but it should give you some idea of the scale of the job and the parts required.

Thanks for all the replies everyone . I have been to three dealer ships to get a rough estimate to how much it would cost me to upgrade it will cost me between 3-4 grand to settle my existing finance and I dont think its worth it.
