GS1200 Foot Pegs - Good Alternatives?

Hi

I'm looking for some replacement foot pegs for my 09 GS - the standard ones are too narrow and uncomfortable.

I'm having trouble finding some alternatives online.
Can anyone recommend any?

I have fitted a second hand set of R1200GSA pegs with their rubber covers. I find these much better than the std set although they do not lower the peg height. I thought gear lever actuation with the wider pegs would be a problem but they work fine.

I have them on my 08 GSA. They are considerably bigger than standard and can be set at standard height or about 3/4" low.

I've been using Pivot Pegz for a couple of years, and if you stand up on the pegs a lot, they are brilliant. Even if you stay seated, they are much more comfortable than regular fixed pegs. If you can get over the cost, you won't be disappointed.

Nothing like pedal bike pedals..... but if that is what you're used to ask your local push bike shop. What were you expecting when you asked here?

I would like to lower the footpegs as with my low seat my legs are a bit cramped. I don't need the off road type design and am quite happy with road type pegs, I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs (don't we all?) and these wide platform designs look awkward for that. Is it a problem in practice?

Just use GSA pegs.

Why do you want the rubber inserts? Have been riding GSA's since '06 and never felt the need and the soles of my boots don't get chewed up by the spikes when used on the road. Off road is a different story as standing on the pegs.

1. Get a pair of Fastway pegs from somewhere on the internet.

2. Get a pair of normal R1200GS foot peg rubbers from any dealer.

3. Install pegs (lower/higher).

4. Remove the rubbers from your existing footpegs.

5. Jam all four rubbers into the gaps in the Fastway Pegs.

The footpeg rubbers will not come out unless you force them out for those sandy moments.

Go down to BMW Park Lane at Battersea. Talk to the nice bod behind the parts counter, who will sell you a pair of GSA footpegs and some rubber inserts. Fit at leisure, or ask them to do it.

Yes, the teeth of the un-rubberised GSA footpegs may well chew lumps out of your sole, depending on how often you change gear, how many miles you do in a year, the position of your foot, the solidity of the sole of your boot or sandal of choice.

I have these, 25mm lower. I don't miss the fact they don't pivot (whatever the term, they do move up when touching the road), i use them w/o the original rubber inserts, and can move forward/backward easily to shift despite the rough looks. Expensive yes, but then what else. Really great when you're tall

I did indeed call in to Battersea....and they told me that they did not do any rubber pegs for the GSA pegs.

Is that wrong?
