GS1200 - IMMEDIATE DELIVERY

For what it's worth, NLS, I think someone's worth on a forum like this is shown by the quality of their posts, not by whether or not they donate. Your posts that I have read have been of a consistently higher quality than stella's, who doesn't seem to grasp everyday concepts like politeness.

There are polite ways to tell someone you don't agree with them, stella seems ignorant of them or unwilling to indulge in such niceties.

, if he offers a deal that 'might' have some small financial impact to his company, you all get on your high horses!

I dont think anybody is on a high horse. One thing is what words are types another is an interpretation (yours in this case).

Hooves post is perfectly valid and very good he came here to do it and as a director of a company Im not averse to people making money. So why dont we be consistent - the forum has rules and they are what helps to keep it afloat financially (I say afloat I do not say making money). I would have thought that was reasonably clear to eveyone and even acceptable.

Stella your posts on the other hand do need too much interpretation unfortunately.

Anybody noticed old Hoove has not posted since he got poked in the eye!!!

Be a pity if he has walked, sounds like he has a lot to bring to the party. Hopefully he realises that not everyone objects to his post.
As far as the financial return, think that was fairly secure the way the 12,s are flying out the doors.

Nowhere to hide in sales figures boys.

I think the guy was just giving what he thought were enthusasts like himself the 'headsup' on a 1200, knowing there are a lot of people on here waiting eagerly for del dates weeks/months away.

Its also noteworthy that the Honourable Members so swift to quote the rule book are not on a 1200 delivery waiting list.!!!!!

Lighten up guys, think someone once said that ' Rules were for the guidence of wise men, and the blind adherance of fools'!!

Right better pay me subs now!!!:P

wouldn´t bother mate just send Paul a "heads up" by post that should do the trick.:D

I hope I am not a fool - at least not for this reason;)

Sharon.....I hear that the tufty badges are all gone....would you settle for a Spongebob Squarepants sticker???? ;) :D

(it takes BHT anywhere from 24 minutes to a day or two to get people badged up.......don't worry, if you've paid up, you'll be ok ;) )

Bill

Cheers Monsieur Fanum, looks like Paul has found one lurking in the pocket normally reserved for blue fluff, but thank you kindly for the offer of a Bob :)

Just to continue the derailment, whilst I wouldn't tut tut at anyone for not sponsoring, I'm a great believer if you get something out, you put something back in ... and yes, I'm still talking about sponsoring the forum ;)

So close, but yet so far...

Evening All,

It looks like there's been quite a debate going on while I was trying to buy the GS from Hoove. Unfortunately, BMW decided not to lend money to this particular Aussie bloke, something to do with only being in the country for 3-months; no surprises there really. So now it's back to plan A, to order one after Intermot for April delivery. At least now I'll get the spoked wheels and will have time to get my riding gear shipped over (as well as save the rest of the money of course).

Anyway, my thanks to Hoove for posting the bike's availability, I know I appreciated it. I've also found his posts very helpful. In fact, I've found the whole forum so helpful I have recently sent an e-mail off to organise my site sponsorship (just waiting on a reply).

Cheers, Steve

THE HOOVE RESPONDS.......

Blimey, what a can of worms I seem to have opened up! I haven't vanished I have just been away in Spain for a wedding so this is my first opportunity to respond.

For the record I work for a genuine UK BMW dealership and in posting the fact that we had a cancelled order GS1200 available my intention was not just to line my own pocket (lets be honest, we would have sold it in 2 seconds anyway), but simply I wanted you guys to have first refusal. (Bear in mind I am not the only member of staff here who sells.)

I had no idea that you had to sponsor the site to be able to advertise a bike for sale because like most people I didn't read the small print. In answer to Spanish Bob's suggestion that I should pay like I would in the commercial press well that's fine - next time we get a cancelled order I'll just put the advert in MCN and you lot can join the queue.

As Eye Guy said, I have been (and would have continued to have been) more than happy to share inside knowledge and trade information with GS'ers members - perhaps taking Spanish Bob's theory I should charge for this ????

Sorry to sound so pissed off chaps but I genuinely just wanted to see one of you perhaps getting onto a GS12 sooner rather than later. After all, I have one on order for myself so I could have kept my gob shut and had it myself couldn't I?

Thanks to Aus Steve for responding and I'm sorry we couldn't do a deal mate, but thanks anyway.

Goodbye

The Hoove

FINANCE RATE REPLY

RobC said:
Hi Hoove,
I'm not in a position to buy right now but is your normal finance rate 3.75%? The dealer I was going to use quoted something like 10%.

If so, I may head over to your place to buy instead.

Rob - the 3.65% flat rate finance is available via any BMW (GB) dealership at the moment. Don't know how long it will continue though cos at that rate they can't be making any money...

Hoove.....I hope you haven't got your knickers in a twist as much as your second to last post implies.....you're more than welcome here and if you read the thread back through you'll see lot commented that we knew you were doing it for altruistic reasons rather than just commercial gain.......that's why I left the initial post largely intact...it was about the best compromise I could come up with at the time.

Unfortunately we have had problems recently with others posting stuff for sale and not sponsoring in a far more blatant way than you were.....I normally delete those threads on sight and having done that to others, I have to be consistant or those who get deleted would moan like crazy....even though your post was for the benefit of the guys after a 12gs and not for personal gain, I'm sure you can see the potential problem it caused.

I hope you do stick around and pass on your knowledge.....it's always appreciated and useful to have someone like you around and I hope you haven't taken this personally.

Best regards

Bill

Hi Hoove, ignore the wingeing, some folk don't know when they're onto a good thing. One advantage to sponsoring is that we can send you messages!

Which dealer do you work for - mods please do not edit the answer. Ta

any news about bmw bikes are welcome!

Bit of a no win for the moderators this one.
Where to draw the line? Need the cash from sponsors to run the site so who should sponsor??
No answers here I'm afraid, hey I don't even own a GS any more, although that little green man appears in my brain every time I see one.....
