Hi Guys hope someone can help with this, my GS got a real soaking the other day and is now a real pain to start.
Symtons when on centre stand will start but as soon as touch throttle cuts out.

Put on sidestand it will start and run but is a lot lumper than it was.

Before it goes back to the dealer is there anything really obvious I should check?

If you run the bike on the main stand with the side stand down when's the bike's cold the rear wheel will turn due to cold gearbox oil.

And the engine will cut out.

I discovered this from experience.

Could it be your problem?

The "lumpy" running might be due to water in the spark plug caps.

You could try pulling off each cap in turn - there are four, two per cylinder, and they are also the ignition coils so don't break em! - and squirting a little WD40 on the contacts.

if its like the 1150 check that the cables are seated on the throttle bodies properly

Thanks Guys your stars, Wraithwrider/ Mouse both right. Bike is cold and wheel going round therefore cuts out. And WD40 has cured the lumpiness. Think I will be abit more careful in future how wet we get.
