My 1300TE exhibits excessive noise from somewhere at the front. It almost masks the engine noise. I am hoping its bedding in related as its pretty damned annoying. It's road speed related not engine and like a nasty sounding turbine whoosh - I saw one video review where someone I think experienced the same thing. Once its rolling above 40 its there and gets worse. almost like the pads were rubbing against the discs (I don't believe they are). Does this ring a bell with any other owner. Making me disappointed with my purchase if I'm honest which for such a lot of money is a problem. (Gearbox is chronic too by the way).

That's the sound of your hard earned dosh disappearing...
Just wait a bit....

and prepare to lay out more dosh when your suspension fails...
And your dealership tells you it's a ' no user serviceable parts inside" which will cost thousands to replace...

And....well, I stop there.
Time to bail! :rob
No buns pls.

Load of Old Bollox right there :ROFLMAO:

Id put your noise down to the tyres Andrew? Bellowing up from the steering well.

The new engine makes all sorts of weird noises but if it’s road speed related, then as Onahi said above, it’s certainly your tires

The good news is you can change your tires for a different model

The bad news is that another model may well make just as much noise :D

Get some ear plugs or take no notice (y)

Think you may be worrying too much , ride the bike , its brilliant , the only noise I here is fuc me , this is good .......
The engine does have a wirrrr , but thank god as its a great power plant , after 40 its just an after thought , enjoy your 23k bike , it works and its better than the rest.

Most likely tyre noise from the front tyre funneling up through the fairing. 1200s& 1250's did it too.

What's wrong with your gearbox??. Is that the noise of it too that is the problem. They do whine more than previous 1250 gearboxes due to now being straight cut gears I presume.

No doubt there will soon be a ridiculously expensive cockpit blanking plate from Wunderlich, closely followed by a ridiculously cheap piece from Ali Express to cut down on the noise and wind. Guess which one I have fitted to my 1200...?

The 1300 does come with a plate fitted between the forks but it doesn't stop everything.

Every “adventure” bike (big trailie if you’re old) that I’ve had has had tyre noise from the front, variable depending on tyres and road surface, but they all do it

Personally doesn’t bother me in the slightest, it’s just another noise along with engine, exhaust, wind etc…. :nenau

It’s a motorcycle

100 % agree ,, no noise , use the car as its sounds like some need the attributes of a cocoon but miss the viseral feeling of a bike , the wind the naked worry of the road rash but above all the FREEDOM......
Oh invest in some ear plugs and enjoy the vibes ...FFS its a bike . Im with you Leadfarmer , Imagime how a Harley rider feels , flies in the teeth , nub bum , numb arms , but again enjoying the ride.

Hi Leadfarmer - thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I totally get that, have had many adventure bikes but bugger me this noise is overbearing and nothing like I have ever experienced from a wide variety of bikes - several replies have suggested tyres ... better than anything I have but doesnt sound like tyre noise to me (there is no buzz content in the noise) but ill give it some time. Thanks again.

My 13gs came with the anakee”s adventures and made same noise but now after 2500kms the noise has disappeared
So think it’s the Michelin tyres
Thanks MP - Appreciate the reply. No buzz content in the noise but I will give it time. Several have suggested the tyres. Thanks

Thanks PPB - Many have said tyre noise, Ill see what happens. Doesnt sound like tyre noise to me ..but I hope I am wrong. They are Metzler tyres rather than Michelins on mine. The gearbox even for a BM is as they say 'agricultural' .. which is a bit of an insult to tractors as I have driven several tractors with smoother gearboxes - 3rd upwards is fine - 1st and 2nd ... Jesus. Clunk or what. Before anyone says .. its my 7th BM so Im not a stranger to their boxes- this is top of the clunk pops though.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, several have said tyres though it doesnt sound like tyre noise to me. I will bed it in and see how things change. I hope they do. Deffo coming up from the steering well though - at 60 almost masks the engine noise.
