Can anyone help or advise. I love my GS800 but hate the suspension when doing fast and tricky off road as it bottoms out or does not soak up the bumps. I do not want to spend a fortune so can anyone suggest a sensible option, i.e. fork springs, replacements, rear shock option....? :blagblah

Ta very much!

Try MCT suspension, they can almost certainly re-spring & re-valve the forks and may be able to re-work the rear shock as well.

I have had bikes both modified and set up by them as have several friends - all have been extremely happy with the results, not only that you get genuine advice and not told to buy the most expensive solution.

Other firms are out there as well, but I can vouch for MCT as my GS and last bike was sorted by them, as will my next bike be.

Got the Wilbers rear suspension unit plus front fork springs and oil, bloody great :thumb:thumb

:beerjug:

What did they do Rasher?

There's aren't many 'adjustment' options are there?? How much did it cost you?

Give them a call and see what they can do:

On my ZZR they reworked the stock forks and the rear shock which completely transformed the handling, it rode bumps better and provided massively improved feedback, and with a pillion it went from being vague and wallowy to a sharp sportsbike. I later got them to fit an Ohlins as I wanted easy to alter pre-load.

On the GS they just fitted and setup Wilburs kit.

I know many others who have had bikes modified by them, including a mate who won many national superstock races (and set a few national lap records) on an MCT setup GSX-R1000 a few years back.
