Yes, if I wanted panniers on my GS, would definitely be getting top loading after market ones…

I see on Facebook that the BMW tank bag isn’t even waterproof as it comes with an old fashioned rain cover .


Pretty pathetic on a £25k bike .
And I’m guessing the attachment system makes it impossible to fit quality waterproof kit like the SW Motech Pro WP range ?

I knew/toured with a bloke that strapped one of these to the back of a Hyabusa (1/10 for spelling).

That is awful ..... And to think all the other storage the bike can offer and they put a Cyst on the tank FFS ....Got to add the photo ? is that Tesco / Morrisons/Adsa or Waitrose parking

Apparently it costs £300 too, so I’m told by a bod who’s bought a GSA. And there’s no map case

What’s £300 for a non waterproof tank bag when your SOA was £30K ?

Waiting for the Shad fixing plate . In the meantime I have an old Rhinowalk fitted which will do for now

What concerns me about the GSA OE mounts is that they are cast Aluminium.
If you drop the bike and the mounts snap it’s not even bodge able. That’s on its own is a good enough reason to look at aftermarket.

Adventure Bike Shop have indicated that Bumot are bringing out panniers that will utilise the existing alloy mounts.

if you are still interested I have a set of sh Bumot panniers for a GSA 1250 which will fit the 1300 GSA with an adaptor, available from Adventure Bikes. If you want to ride with fancy shiny new luggage fine, but if interested get back and I'll send photos. Andrew

Bumot told me today the new panniers that fit straight onto the OEM racks on the 1300 GSA are in production. In a week or so they will be added to their web shop

Panniers for OEM 1300 GSA racks are 2 x 45L, width 98 cm

I had Bumot on my R1250 and they were great.

1300GS have a panier power socket on both sides , but they’ve caused so much trouble that the 1300GSA only has a power socket on the left side.
