R1300GS only ever had a power socket on one side and also one in the topbox. I had the panniers1300GS have a panier power socket on both sides , but they’ve caused so much trouble that the 1300GSA only has a power socket on the left side.
Very similar to mine fitted on the 1300GS supplied by Shad for the Terra panniers and top box. Not dissimilar to the OEM GSA 1250/1200 ones. Much neater and tbh I would have gone for those and used the conversion plates available now. That's some serious Alu racking to have sitting on the bike when the boxes aren't fitted? They look like they're bolted on too.
I've got racks on my TE for Bumot boxes, and they blend a little.

Yes and No
1300GS have , as an optional extra , the benefit of power to both sides
The 1300GSA does NOT have this option ( because it’s been too troublesome ) ;![]()
I have the socket on both sides, it needs the socket for the central locking, but only one pannier has the charging socket.Yes and No

Looks greatBumot panniers have arrived and just dropped them on excellent quality and a great easy fit as you’d expect from them 99cm wide and very stiff unlike the BMW ones I saw in the show room, thanks Adventure bike shop.
Thanks - it looks really good. Did you get the top box as well?Bumot panniers have arrived and just dropped them on excellent quality and a great easy fit as you’d expect from them 99cm wide and very stiff unlike the BMW ones I saw in the show room, thanks Adventure bike shop.
So why not use the panniers for clothing etc and get a top box for helmets ?I think it is worth bearing in mind that the Bumot Panniers while being 45 Litres will not take a Shoei Neotec helmet…surprisingly. As most of my riding is 2 up this was a deal breaker for me.
I like to keep the top box for helmets also keeps the weight low down using the panniers for heavier items.

The problem with say a 54 litre plus top case which will happily take 2 helmets the overall width/overhang then will not allow you to open the pannier lids fully to gain access particularly on the 1300 GSA (OEM pannier rails are very close to the bike frame). When I reach my destination the pannier bags go to the hotel room which then allows me to utilise the panniers for the helmets. I’ve always been able to fit a full size helmet into my panniers with no problems. So why not use the panniers for clothing etc and get a top box for helmets ?
Don’t think I’ve ever had panniers that can take a helmet .

The last thing I want to do is to have to take all the lids off completely just to get my inner bags out of the panniers (after a long days ride) Never had to do this even though I have had Touratech Zega Evo panniers /OEM BMW panniers over the years which allow you to do this.Get panniers that allow you to remove the lid at both ends easily, Touratech, Givi and I think SW Motec do this

My set up allows me to put 1 helmet into the top case and the other helmet into the one of the panniers and all the jackets/trousers gloves etc into the other pannier with no issues. Freedom to walk around in comfort particularly when it’s 35 degrees.

I wish I had room in my panniers to do this when I’m touring, good for a ride out on a Sunday I suppose.
