GSA Alloy Panniers-Maintenance Tips?

Hi Chaps,

Just bought a set of new BMW Aluminium Panniers for my GS and they look great.

I know they are prone to Oxidise etc and was just wondering if there was any way to keep them looking good:-

Few thoughts:- smear with WD40? - armourfend with clear film?

Your tips, experience much appreciated.

take them off the bike in October, store in a warm dry location until may.
