Hi,

Really want to put some BMW R1200 GSA Alloy panniers on my R1150 GSA, have tried Touratech UK and they inform me that they no longer supply them :(

Is there any other way of fitting them , can the R1200 GSA frames be modified or should I be looking at alternative alloy panniers? Any suggestions/information gratefully received.

I have the Holan equivalent on my HP - very happy with them :thumb2

I use holan frames to fit r1200gsa panniers to my bike and they fit great. I would recommend you buy the bare stainless frames as stainless doesnt powder coat well and saves you bothering about picking up marks.

That is interesting. I ordered a set from touratech last week (13/10). They are coming from Germany Part No 01-051-0140-0. I contacted them via email and they confirmed they were still available. They quoted 10-14 days delivery.

Best I contact them again just to make sure.

Ian,

I rang Touratech UK this morning about their frames and a very informed female told me they no longer sold them, she knew immediately what I was inquiring about as she had received a similar inquiry the previous week. I would ring and confirm your order, anyway to all that answered my question thanks for the info regarding the Holan racks. Have visited their website and placed an order, off to the bank tomorrow to arrange the bank transfer.

Well after a torturious day on and off the telephone to Touratech, finally established that the frames are no longer available, and they will not go back into production, and they will not be making an alternative. so that has knackered that sketch.

I preferred the touratech ones over the Holan frames, because (a) you could stick with original indicators, and (b) the panniers sit further forward.

Looks like I'm going to have to fabricate my own, using R1200 frames.

Nice little winter project.

Ian

You can use the standard indicators with the holan frames. The panniers sit in just the right place in my opinion as you don't need to relocate the pillion footrests.
