I'm prepared to take the hit and buy a decent replacement for my GSA. Getting fed up and concerned with BMW one not being up to the job. :mcgun

Surely it doesnt need charging being used a min of 5 days a week, 20 mile round trip to work and back???

Which batteries are proving the most reliable? Hawker Odyssey PC535 as a direct replacement and no bodging required?

battery

The Battery shoud last 4/5 years if set up correctly to begin with.
The correct type of charger has to be used, gel filled and sealed for life use a current charger.
Also have you an alarm fitted these can cause a problem with discharge.
Check the conections are good.If you have a multimeter check voltage on batt 13.2 volts on a charged up batt is good /on engine running up to 14.5 volts is ok, if higher also can be aproblem.
cheers Bobbyc

Not sure if you've had issues, or are concerned about other peoples issues. Mine can sit on the alarm with no charger for three weeks at a time with no problems starting :nenau

Just read something about a software fault on one version where if you lock the steering and then unlock, but not not turn ignition on, the rider display panel lights up and shows the mileage and time. This fault causes the battery to drain unnecessary.

Getting the latest update sorts it.

Don't know how accurate this info is, but read it on the BMW owners club forum
