Hi There,
My GSA had it's first service today at 600 miles, drove it some 40 miles home, got off and to my horror the back wheel, brake disc etc etc where covered in oil.
Immediately rang the dealer to be told this is not an uncommon problem as they have to change the final drive oil on the first service now, and that they and other dealers are having problems with the final drive seals failing after this work is carried out.
Does this ring true to you as????
1, I was not sure that the final drive seal would be disturbed just changing the oil.
2, If this is not uncommon surely this is a serious problem as I had none or very little rear brake, plus my rear tyre etc was covered in oil.
My bike is being picked up and taken back to the dealer tomorow so your views would be much appreciated.

Regards Andy

Should have bought a GS with a normal filler/drain bolt in it..................not a 'filled for life' one which you have to invert to tip the oil out

I can only assume that its been overfilled and the excess has been forced past the seal.
Mine's just had its first service at 800 miles and no leaks yet.

Had not thought of that but it's a possibility they did charge me for a full litre of oil.....
