The fuel gauge on my GSA went hay-wire a couple of months ago (yes, the common bi-metallic strip problem!). Since the bike was still under warranty, I rang Bahnstormers in Bracknell to book it in for a fix. I was told at the time that there was a 'stop' on fixes (from BMW) as the factory were planning a proper fix 'in a few weeks or months'. The nice people at Bahnstormers told me 'not to worry, now you've registered the problem with us prior to the end of the warranty, all was good' - they'd logged it on the system and would contact me..........
Bike is now out of warranty.
I drove past today (first time for a while) - Shock, horror, Bahnstormers have GONE - SHUT - NO MORE.......
So - does anyone know if my fuel problem is logged onto a dealer system, or onto BMW Central (if there is such a thing?). Can I go to any other dealer, re-report the problem, they'll find it logged against the VIN (or whatever) and I'll still be covered under warranty - or am I, to coin a phrase, fecked.
I think I already know the answer, just hoping really.........
