I put one of NippyNormans lifting handles on my GSA before a trip with a reasonable amount of luggage on and then took it off when I came back because it didn't help at all. There is an increase in leverage front to back so getting it off the centre stand can be easier but you lose a *lot* of control left to right.

When I used it first in my driveway (which is more like a green lane than a driveway in places, to be honest) it rolled forward fine then started to lean to the right because it hit a slight slope going that way. I lost control completely because the handle pulled out of its socket (as has to do to go from "out" to "folded" if you see what I mean) and the bike went down on the right hand side.

It may be that the Touratech or Wumderlich jobbies are more robust but in truth I wouldn't recommend it.

Sorry, in East London at 7:30am (when I was supposed to be meeting up with someone on the M6 at 9:00am) with the bike fully loaded and a full tank I wasn't particularly thinking about recording the event for posterity :(

Especially as it was a foot or so away from a fence which made for an "interesting" lift...

(love) handle

thanks for all of the (funny) comments and advice, I have just bought one from one of our colleagues on this site so I can try it for myself. :)
