I took advantage of the current offer to include 'free' luggage on bike registered this quarter. My GSA arrived on Thursday without the luggage. There's no luggage in the UK or at the BMW factory. Hence it is on 'back-order', with no date given for delivery. I have a tour next month, so am having to make fall-back arrangements.

Is anyone else in the same position? Has anyone been given a date?

This happened when they first were produced . My Jan 25 GSA was without luggage . However if you have the electric top box rack Shad do a mounting plate and top box that will fit . You could sell it after the OEM stuff arrives . I like my Shad and it’s expandable . May help for your trip

Soft luggage
Lighter and more versatile

John Clark Motorrad in Tayside has some black panniers on fleabay.
More in keeping with the bike than a pair of 1960/70’s canvas rucksacks IMHO. 🫶👍
That’s if you’re after black?

I think he will be waiting for the FREE luggage that comes with a new GSA at the moment, only available in silver as part of the free offer. My luggage was unavailable when I got my bike at the end of March and was offered any piece of soft luggage of my choice as compensation, the silver luggage then supplied within 2 weeks at the time of the first service, so worked out well for me👍

Mosko Moto ….man
That’s the fashionable choice

I’ve got the full set…. Had it on the bike once…. Been on the shelf since. Finally realised…a little late in life…. I’m never going to need to lug that much “stuff” on my travels again…. Hotels/Gites etc….👍

Whereabouts are you? Happy to lend you mine if we could sort a key out for your tour.

Wow, that's a generous offer. Location is probably an issue though. Also, Im not sure about the weight of responsibility!

I'm in North East Essex (Mersea Island). Just the panniers needed. I can get an adapter to use a Bumot top box (from when I had a 1250GS).

If it's just a couple of weeks delay, then I'll be fine. Not being able to estimate a date caused me to fear it will be more like a couple of months?

Moscow Motors… :D
£17.22 on EBay. Available in grey or tactical olive.
1960’s vintage canvas rucksack. Remember when folk used to paint the top flap with gloss paint and inscribe their fave group on the lid… 👍

On a bike - no thanks 🫶

I've got the "free" luggage with my bike, but TBH I'm not sure I'd have chosen it if it wasn't free. For one thing it's really heavy, and also after using it for a recent trip, I think it's awkwardly shaped.

Have you asked whether they'll give you a cash alternative you could put towards an aftermarket luggage option ?

If you think the GSA panniers and topbox are heavy you should try the GS vario stuff, now that is heavy 😵‍💫

I can only imagine tw99 is referring to the vario luggage when he says "heavy and awkwardly shaped" as the GSA is neither of these.

No, I have the GSA aluminium boxes. In my opinion they are both of those things :) I would prefer them to be deeper and narrower rather than square-ish in cross-section.

They perfectly fit a 12 case of wine, not seeing the problem here

Riddle me this: you can manhandle a 250 KG motorcycle but struggle with a 40cm alu box? 😳🫤

I do too, I don't want panniers sticking way out to each side but the cube shape comes from riders wanting their helmets to fit inside the panniers.

That would explain it. Don’t like the top box either….seems massive on the bike… should really have looked at luggage before I bought bike….🤣 I just assumed it would be as good/useful/sized as the stuff on my 1200 TC…..😭
