Hi all
I'm new to this forum and hope I can get some advise
I had a spill on the bike in town a few weeks back and managed to break my legs in 3 places(5 mph)
The bike (07 GSA) ran after the incident and was driven @3miles to store until I could collect
After a few weeks tried to get the bike home but it was a non starter
The battery was fine but there was some wear on the loom to the positive side of the battery and two of the smaller positive cables were shorted
I have sorted out these cables and still non starter, when the key is turned I get full head light, front indicators only, clock ,mileage and that's about it
Can anyone shed some light on this and any advice would be appreciated
Many thanks

not a lot to go on but are you sure the battery is fully charged if down a little bike will not start ,

Sorry to hear about yor accident. There wont be alot wrong with your bike. Best advise is to drop it into a dealer.

With a low speed fall it's unlikely to be anything too serious. Check the kill switch - it caught me out once

Is the engine turning over fully when you press the starter or do you just get a click?
If so your battery doesn't have enough charge to start the bike, use jump leads or the like.

What kind if any alarm is fitted to the bike?

one odd area to look is below\under the key at the connection as when bike went down it gets a fair shock,
inside are two limit switches one could be sticky

The engine does not turn over and I don't get full dash display

Mine was like that when the battery went. I have one of those battery jump start packs if you are anywhere close to North Kildare I'll drop over with it. It will at least eliminate the battery.

Rosahane! Christ the Night Don't even bring a jump pack into the garage near a 1200!

If you are going to do anything use a battery or on in a car but the engine off and Positive battery to positive battery or the TOP heavy terminal on the starter and the other to the exhaust or good frame point close by

This "lowers" the chance of voltage spikes and therefore damage to the ECU's

when you say you are not getting a full Dash display Please explain

Sounds like a dead battery even though you say it is fully charged. Does fully charged mean you have had it on charge for hours or does it mean you have tested it with a meter? I bought a new battery recently and it died. After charging it showed full voltage on a meter, but would still not give enough power to start the bike. Replaced by supplier who then tested it and confirmed that it was showing full voltage but not giving full current.
What area of Dublin are you in?
