Hi guys,
My 2009 1200GSA (23000 miles) has developed a very slight oil leak/seepage from the rear of the engine. It appears as a oily wet patch on the lower finned area near the starter motor and there's a slight drop of oil on the sump guard.
I've read a few stories of failures of either the transmission input shaft or main engine seal, which seem to be a bit of a major issue to change due to the bike having to be pulled in half!
Does anyone know of any other causes of oil leaks in this area or should I prepare for the worst?
I have spoken to the dealer and they are going to check the bike out next weekend, and hopefully they will do it as a warranty claim. If they don't do it under warranty I was contemplating doing the work myself over the winter months, but my main concerns is the reassembly and bleeding of the rear ABS brakes. Apparently this is a dealer only job?
