I have just taken off my Adventure alloy panniers and have yet again been faced with those ridiculous weight limit stickers come on BMW those boxes weigh a tonne so how much can you realistically carry? With full camping gear or a big load of shopping must be 15 or 20kg at least each side! How much do you carry and what?

Panniers

Yeah, quite impressive, went to get spares for my plough and should have taken the Landrover! have been known to carry bags of cattle feed, potatoes and coal! Realistically 5kg or 10kg isn't always enough spare fuel can and stove fuel plus brackets uses up a lot of the carrying capacity and I don't want to do a 'Ewan'!

Weight limit?

What weight limit? :D

Out of the 460kg all up allowable we had 445kg on our ridout to Garda(yes we did weigh everything! :rolllaugh ). Two pepes at 65kg & 75kg and the bike at 250kg, so that makes eeeeerrrr, ang on I need a calculator for this.......55kgs luggage spread around the paniers & tank bag. Nothing broke, which was nice. The large duffle bag strapped on the offside panier is an inflatable kayak 11kgs. Had to unload before hitting the trails though:D Maybe I should make a trailer for the next trip? or just take the car. ;)
