I drove into the garage with 8kms showing on gauge and nozzle did not cut off quickly and so filled up to the very top but didn't spill over. I thought it took only 33 litres from empty.
Are their pumps miscalibrated because its the cheapest around or can you get over a litre into the spout.
Just curious?:blast

Fuel level is specified to the bottom of the filler tube not to the very top. From bone dry you can actually get around 36l in.

Congratulations on this thread. It sets new limits.
Special mention for thinking the photo was worth taking.

The manufacturers spec is 33L @ 90% volume. You can brim it with 36L, closest for me is 35.6L

Same as me. 35.6 just a couple of weeks ago. 35.5 on a couple of other occasions. Range said 18 miles left which may have been a bit optimistic.

Raaa, nearly 36 litres, that's a fill up and a half! After mine once ran out I only got 27 litres in.....but that was because the blimmin' jet sucking pump (must be rhyming slang that) wasn't doing its job :blast

I've ran out of fuel on more than one occasion to then find the tank only took about 30L to fill.
That's BMW reliability for ya.
