GSA shocks on a GS?

After figuring out my bike's front spring had not collapsed, I was obviously next to a GSA, now I want the extra height!

I am sure this question has been asked before and I have done a search (honestly). Can you fit the front and rear shocks from a GSA (without the electronic control) onto a 2004 GS? I realise the centre stand does not lift the back wheel off the ground, is there any other issues?

If so, where is the best place to find some standard GSA shocks as they do not seem to come onto the "for sale" board to often.

A few years ago it was possible to swap and change all manner of parts between different models -those days have largely changed now though. Looking at various part numbers there seem to be a lot of differences. For example the front forks have different numbers - but they also have different finishes between the GS and GSA so that might be all the difference is.

In theory, the extra height of the GSA could simply be the shock lengths and nothing else.............however, in this day and age the safest bet would be to do some measuring between the two bikes.

Alternatively, and possibly cheaper, would be a reduction in personal leg length!

If you're going to spend money I'd have thought you'd be better off going for aftermarket shocks with extra height i.e. Wilburs/Ohlins rather than OEM stuff.
