GSA - Unrideable in the Rain!!

Apologies for communicating via keyboard . My carrier pigeon is having a day off 😜
I was going to suggest getting gloves with the little wiper on the left forefinger but the OP doesn’t like people replying via their keyboard so I didn’t bother. 😂

Sounds like no airflow over your visor . Lower the screen or stand up to clear the rain drops .
I don’t have a GS though so might be talking bollox 😜
Can’t stand on the pegs, you don’t approve and take the piss out of GS riders

I never thought to wipe my visor or turn my head. 20 years on the roads and it never occurred to me. I'm obviously the idiot.

I do find it funny how people reply from the comfort of their keyboard.
Well You are the one that asked the stupid question!!

Seriously!!! If you asked me in a pub, I would have given you the same answer!

Honestly Fella, Do go out and find some more rain and try things !!!! and have a back up plan if they fail (y)

The Bike is not Unreadable!! Its the Loose Nut behind the handlebars

To borrow a computer world acronym "P.I.C.N.I.C "

Problem In Chair Not In Computer......... in this instance ............Problem on Saddle Not the bike!

Why would you want to ride in the rain. You have paid for a house so you don't get wet.

I'm trying to fathom whether the original poster was taking the p### when he mentioned never having thought of wiping the visor or moving his head...in any case...different bikes, different cures or workrounds...and much depends on the amount fo rain and the speed that you can ride at....motorway riding shouldn't be a big issue as the speed allows you to move your head frequently to get rid of the water.
If OP really hadn't thought of moving his head...I'd heartily recommend a few sessions with a riding instructor...god knows what other stuff you do/don't do that could make riding so much more enjoyable...seriously

No screen is going to keep all the rain off your visor.

I can set the awesome and fully adjustable screen on my awesome 1600, so that rain does not hit my visor, like a waterfall. Instead, little (widely spaced) droplets, trickle down, presumably under gravity. Mega, is the word.

Maybe the OP really is on the wrong bike? Or, to take a leaf out of British Rail’s book… In the wrong type of rain.

I find Nikwax Visor Proof very good at shifting rain. Also varying screen and head position. If my visor hasn't been proofed, I lower the screen and then I tilt my head slightly forward. The rain is then cleared instantly.

I noticed that my (Shoei) visor, rather than wetting, seems to hold droplets, unless it is pissing down, and needs wiping.

I wonder if it’s the visor itself or a coating. I’d have thought removing insects from the visor with a bit of kitchen paper and some washing up liquid would have sorted that, but it doesn’t seem to. I’ve got some Bob Heath spray somewhere, I’ll give that a try.

Practice in the dry first (y)

That picture is very irresponsible. The OP might well interpret it as an instruction to ride on the right when training, rather than on the left. Shocking, truly shocking.

OP, this is the correct road position to adopt:

Be sure though to obey all speed limits, be courteous to other road users and, of course, wear appropriate clothing.

What did we do in the past , well rainex worked for me also keeping your visor as clean as possible helps. but i second just get your head out into the air flow should do the trick.

to the OP , and this is going to fuck you off,
if you have been riding in all weathers for 20+ years and you haven't worked this out yet .....sell the bike and gear , you are not meant to be on a bike , get a bus pass .

you are at least 36 Y/O , grow some bollocks , and engage your brain plus take your index finger out of your bum .

Appropriate for the Adventure (with a capital, A) bikermate on an awesome GS Adventure.

This is surely a wind up :D .. anyway try a turbo visor .. not sure in your 20 years of riding if you’ve ever turned your head to look behind ? But don’t try it with a turbo visor fitted. 948382FD-537C-4078-9423-83520573699B.jpeg74D6B354-C887-4F93-9D1B-DC8BC5A569CC.jpeg
