...I fitted a 2nd hand Remus Titanium to my fully dressed GSA....and now Ive fried the plastic fittings on the bottom of the L/H box....tossa.... anyone else done same...any mods before I sell the pipe and put standard one back on?

remus

I had a remus on my GSA. Gap was a little close to the box so I placed a couple of washers inbetween the pipe mounting and the frame mount. Did over 14,000 miles no problem.

yep same problem

fitted a remus Titanium and Y peice, can very close to the BWM aluminium luggage rack system. Used a spacer to give about 6-7mm clearance, no probs at all now.

Cheers.....

Thanks, will persevere with it then, have made an ally spacer which doubles up as a mini 'hanger' as pushing the pipe over also pushed it down a tad.
First time Ive owned a Remus and must say I dont think the quality is as good as Acroprovic or Scorpion....just my opinion!

road legal remus and 'y' on my GSA no probs at all with the standard black plaggy panneirs

Sidestepping slightly here..... Just fitted a y piece to my GSA and kept the original silencer on, much improved IMO freed up the engine no end. Slight problem with back fires now and then on deceleration, even though and despite all the joints bieng airtight!
Does the backfiring still occour if a road legal remus is fitted ?

Nope, got the same set up as you and I quite enjoy the odd back fire.

With a Remus and aftermarket, no backfire and it "breaths" correctly.

i have remus road legal, y, techlusion and k&n..... no backfires whatsoever

Thanks Guys, guess ill move over to a Remus sooner or later, just gotta try and stop spending money on it

shnauzer.Am I correct in saying you posted a while back re Mottorad Central (Glasgow)making a great job of fitting your set up?.If so,can you tell me if you "legal" can is a one with the removable baffle or not and if you dont mind give me an idea on supply/fit cost.I have an 1100 and thinking of changing to legal replacement but mucho difference in opinion re models available ,fitting, cat, lambda sensor on this site.
I think my option is called a Grand Prix and the legal version comes without removable baffle but there may be other options..Any others out there with suggestions.Looking for legal but better sound than original.(Stef,I dont want one like yours i think thats what attracted that police helicopter that was flying level alongside us on the A82 at Inverbeg few weekends ago.)

Hi Condorpilot,

costs were

K&N filter 28.85
Remus 'Y' 170.21
Remus legal titanium can with removable baffle 268.94
techlusion black box 187.50
fitting 90

all plus vat

Its the 'revolution' that I've got on mine, its e marked but just sounds that much better than std
