Anyone had a 'wobble'at 42 mph on 1300 GSA when top box attached.
Interesting video by the Black Country Biker about an inherent wobble when hands off the bars.
Apparently BMW also involved now

it happens with every bike i have ever owned. ( and I've had a few )
if you restrain the bars , but not touch them , just limit their movement , it will calm down.

I raised this subject about a month ago, this fella is a riding mate of mine, it appears that a few more similar issues are being identified now given a wider audience, I have witnessed this wobble having ridden alongside of him. He's being very forgiving in his experience of BMW, I would not be happy personally.

Kinda agree with him
Yes don't hands off bars, good advice.

However they speed thousands, if not millions on testing their 'premium' products.

BMW intervention would tend to suggest there may be something amiss

Hi everyone. Thanks for mentioning this mate. Lots of others who own them are having the same problem from all over the world as I predicted. I know it wasn’t just mine doing it after I took the demo bike out. My dealership have been great but BMW UK have their heads stick up their respective ar**s.

It’s only a slight wobble between 38-50mph but at its peak at 42mph. Found purely by accident as I don’t normally ride with my hands off the bars but the fact is it’s there and shouldn’t be.

It’s a compromise, quick steering v stability. Get it right on the basic bike, great, then stick a top box on the bike changing the weight distribution. Then add a load of stuff in the top box and it gets worse. Set the geometry for the loaded bike and it then steers too slow.

As already said keep your hands on the bars where they should be and no problem. Why does BMW get the blame when riders are making the mistakes?

I’d love to see the bike’s connected ride data (which, no doubt the mothership will have already accessed) to see how this quirk was “discovered” ….

light fuel load with top box +/- luggage and throttle makes my GSA wobble every time - especially at speed.

Probably the front tyre
Had it before on a bike, so did others
Change the front tyre and wobble disappeared

My GSA ( twincam ) 1200 did not do this ,,,,, hands of the bar with throttle lock on ,,, take camera from tank bag take pic replace . ( full luggage )
I had 3 transalps ,, bars on the all , and ALWAYS picked up an increasing “ wobble “ , pals Africa twin Sport 1100 does it .
The Suzuki DE 800 V Strom I now have never does it ,,, Rock solid at 60 mph with hands off
All very strange
