All in the name of research!

I didn't get the 400 I was after on the TFT, but what's the best you're aware of from a GSA1250?

I'm aware once the tank hits 0 there is a roughly 30 miles if rode in the same style before the bike comes to a complete stop.

So essentially 427 miles on a single tank at a steady pace in average conditions with panniers, mediumweight and a slow puncture from a bit of off-roading!

Well my normal GS with its 20litre tank does 230miles.
since the GSA has a 30litre tank if i add another 50% i get 345 miles on a tank

If your getting 400 your must be built like a racing snake and ride at 25mph 🤣

Gotta be a slivering racing snake at 10mph to get these kind of numbers 😁 Aviemore to Manchester yesterday riding at 55mph for 370miles...although I felt like eating my own head halfway through and getting overtaken by EVERYTHING on the road including a moped which was soul destroying 🤣

Mine averages a displayed 57mpg, so with a tank capacity of 30 litres I would expect around 380 miles, but so far I have not wanted to risk it so refuelled at 362 miles. Thinking the displyed 57mpg may be on the low side as the bike did not take as much fuel as I had expected, so who knows, 400 miles on a tank may be possible by riding like a Granny.
Apologies to all you Tossers / Granny's riding 1250 GSAs.

I don’t pay too much attention to fuel economy on the bike but my 2017 GSA must be truly awful.

Anyone else notice this.

When the 50 mile warning comes up, brimming it shows that there were at least 3 or 4 litres left in the tank.

340 miles with 60 miles still in the tank from my final fuel stop at a 55mph / 59.8 mpg.

All in the name of research...and getting laughed / road rage by everyone on the road.

I think it has a lot to do with the shiftcam on the 1250 and 1300. If you keep it on the low cam it will do amazing mileage. Like say if your limping in on fumes keep the RPMs down below 4 or 5 thousand. I've seen my 19" GS just stay on 225 miles to fill, for all day as I was driving very slow on dirt roads and such. Prolly got close to 300 miles on that tank but I didn't check it. As soon as you hit the freeway 75+ mph, it uses noticeably more. I'm sure most have found that out ....
