Gunmetal Engine Covers

While i have the GS apart im thinking of painting the engine cover to give it a clean up.

Has anyone got suggestions on gunmetal grey paint colour to use on the engine? In the past i have successfully used the hammerite smooth on them and it works a treat, but with this being the gunmetal i just dont think it would work with silver.

don't know about the gunmetal but a few shades darker looks good. i scratched mine and then filled the damage and sprayed them with an aerosol.i think the colour was a ford titanium?

Gun metal paint

I just did my engine covers with the aldi stove paint. It was a bit of a gamble but only cost a couple Euro for the tin .I was surprised how well they turned out. A photo of before and after and it's on the bike a couple of weeks of commuting and is holding up well.

Cheers Dub, did you so your front cover as well?

I might just swap mine over to all black on the engine. Used hammerite before and it looked good just not sure as yet.
