Those of you who have the Hepco & Becker bars, have you managed to touch them down before the foot pegs? Looking at the nurburgring pictures its pretty close to call, and having get my toe, knees and the pegs down, i'm a bit concerned about the bars.

The reason for the bars is to mount aux lamps, i'm struggling to find out suitable lamps. I like the touratech ones, but they are apparently fogs, and i don't want giant monster lamps, which is why i like the Hella FF50s, but i cannot find appropriate mountings to the current frame, i just need something i can wire in that will supplement the crap headlight on dipped beam as i will run them for most of the time over the winter

Yes, but the pannier followed very closely after the bars  And then my elbow, and then the rest of me. The pegs were untouched though.

Never had the footrests touch down :( for me it's the Hepco & Becker bars on the r/h side & side stand on the left.

Russ,

I'm going to mount some extra lights onto my bars too (haven't looked for lights yet). Don't worry too much about the ground clearance. If you ride the bike hanging off it, you'll be able to get your knee down before the bars. Then the bars touch down and that's it for me. I have touched down the RHS brake lever, and the one or both of the pegs - but under very rare circumstances. I'm not bothered about the pegs. With the missus on the back the pegs/brake lever goes down before the bars.

I even got so comfortable grinding the bars that I overdid it having the bike loose it's rear wheel grip ending in me sliding on the bars ending 90 degress to the direction of the track... :tosser

So if you can get your knee down, go a bit further till the bars touch down then back off a bit - to avoid doing what I did. If you're dumb (like me) learn to grind the bars out till the bike protests properly! :D

All in all - don't worry too much. I think you'll be fine :)
