H & B crash bars on a 12.....how many pieces?

I want to take off the H & B crash bars to respray them after they were damaged at the weekend. I have taken the 3 allen keyed bolts off each side hoping the bars would slip forward as a unit. Unfortunately then appear to snag on the exhaust headers.

How many pieces do the bars split into. It looks like both sides should come out of the bar that goes in front of the engine. There are two bolt heads here (one on each side) but these appear to be welded. Should the bars slip out of a sleeve and could corrosion be holding them together?

Please help or tomorrow I'll be spraying them on the bike after massive masking.

There are two rear facing tiny allen bolts each side of the middle bar

Surely it depends on how badly damanged they are?

Fortunately they are only scratched...hence the respray

I'd seen those but didn't realise they were allen bolts.

Many thanks....I'll have a do at splitting them tomorrow. That will give me the chance to clear the rust off the joint. Very poor finish from the factory so numerous coats of smooth Hammerite going on.
