Cheers guys, I made enquiries at my local BMW dealer and the guy working there said "give me the voucher when the headlight comes in and he will put it towards the cost of fitting the light".
I didn't like the sound of that .

As far as I'm aware and as 'good will' from BMW due to lenth of wait the headlight and fitting are being paid fir by BMW sonin essence to get £500 to use as you see fit on BMW things, service, clothing, goods etc.

Sounds dodgy to me, was he joking ?

The led upgrade is free including the fitting. The £500 voucher can be spent at the dealer on whatever you want.

He was not joking, he went into great detail or rather bullshite about BMW giving out vouchers to cover the fitting of the new headlight. Since then they have lost the BMW franchise. I am still waiting for the headlight recall but worried about using the voucher before having the headlight fitted.
Did you guys spend the voucher before having the new headlight ?

If he lost BMW franchise, how could he get the parts for your light? Seems a bit odd... Never heard of someone to pay for the work. If he's not joking, find an authorized dealer.

I had the headlight done .. yep, was annoyed by the delay but it was not really down to BMW - there were lots of issues globally due to chip shortages. Personally found the adaptive headlight worth the wait, though ... just need to give it a bit of 'protection' .. anyone have any recommendations on protecting the headlight?

I bought the wife a bmw jacket lol before it was fitted, spending the rest on a service. He is taking the wee wee.

Yes, I did, but I had to spend it all at once; they wouldn't let me use some of it and keep some for later.

I sought, and received, though, clear statements via email, before spending it, that I could do that and still have the light changed at no further cost to me, to include parts and labour.

Also, I got the feeling from the dealers that they didn't really need, or care about, the voucher, because they have records. I still have the voucher; I wasn't asked to hand it over. By 'dealers' I mean both the dealer I bought the bike from, and who changed the headlight, and another dealer I bought things from with the voucher.
