Hafren 2011

couple of questions as ive never done an event like this, does the organiser have a sweeper crew in case of breakdowns etc or are you "on yer own mate"?.as a beginer the course is run over two laps, can you come back to the paddock to refuel/rest/make repairs after first lap?.what sort of terrain is the beginners course run over?im really looking forward to doing it,but am a bit nervous about getting in the way of the more serious riders, this is one of the reasons iv not entered one before,i want to enjoy myself and ride at my own pace, not have fifty ktm,s trying to ride over the top of me,any advise or comments welcome:D.mike

just come to see me at the start and i will go through it all with you,and dont worry you have the ability to do it ....you showed that at the training day. you will be ok even if i have to do a lap with you to show you the ropes i will.,,,the next training week end we will go through it all ,with any newbies that want to come along ,were doing bike prep, and set up too ,so see you there bright and early moly

Mikeyboy,
In a rally we all make sure we are all looked after and everyone gets home. As a last resort the organiser does clear the course and make sure everyone is back in the paddock.

If we see anyone on the course having trouble we will stop and help - with the exception of a timed special ;-). Stu and I helped a fair few riders at the Beacons.

As Moly says - just come and find us in the paddock - Look out for the Big Bike Rally Challenge banners and we will be nearby.

i'm in too :rob

so please be gentle with me :comfort

Michael,
You'll do great - we ride a lot of the same terrain we were training on so it will be familiar to you. With the improvements you made over the training weekend - you'll be great.

Not playing

Well guys, unfortunately I have had to pull out, due to I'll Health so can you put some pictures and videos up? :beerjug: Have a great time...

Final Instruction are now up on the Hafren club site :thumb

Doesn't look like there doing Scrutineering on the Saturday afternoon like at the Tarrenig Rally only on Sunday morning but you can sign on at the rugby club between 6.00 and 7.30 on Saturday evening.

Not looking good for me :( as it stands I'm the last twin away down on page 6

i had a fantastic time at the hafren,my first event, thanks to the guys at the big bike challenge for answering my novice questions,i was a bit nervous on the first lap as i was possibly on the most unsuitable bike in the paddock(650 funduro)but once i got into the swing of it i had a really enjoyable ride.i would encourage any one who likes to ride off road to have a go.:D.mike

Hi, it's Burt here.

I'm sure Moly would answer this post if he was up this early ;-)
The info for the training is here:- http://bigbikerallychallenge.co.uk/content/big-bike-rally-training

There is a link to a form so we know the bike you are riding and also the type of tyres.

Good to see you at the Hafren - it looks like mikeyboy enjoyed himself on the "Green Machine"
