Hi all,

i'm new to thte site so please be gentle.

I have a question/s about Hagon Shocks, has anyone used them on a GS? Are they any good?

Being a tight git they appeal to me as they are relatively cheap compared to Ohlins, Wilbers etc. But are they cheap because they are no good or?

All help appreciated.

Hagon's

Hi

Like you I had reservations due to the price, however the cost of some of the alternatives was in my view and my wallets prohibitive.

Anyway I got a Hagon replacement when my rear shock gave up, been on the bike for about fifteen months, and around 18 thou miles. Had no issues, plenty of two up tours with all the crap, handles ok.

So I would get one, you get a two year gurantee, know plenty on here will disagree but that is my contribution anyway.

I replaced the rear on a K100RS I had some years ago with a Hagon, and had no complaints with it at all.

i've used there front springs and rear shocks on various bikes and never had a problem.
but i dont do off road.:thumb
if that makes any difference i dont know.

put hagon on my rg500 and the handling was transformed dont know on a gs would buy again for rg

Can't comment on how well Hagon will work on the GS, but I have one on my Triumph Thunderbird and have been perfectly happy with it - a noticeable improvement on the standard item.

Not had one on my GS but did on a Pegaso a few years back. One thing about Hagon back then was their great service, the shock was a few months out of warranty when it collapsed (probably because of overloading when working as a courier). I lived near the factory at the time and so went along to ask about a rebuild, they just took a new one off the shelf and gave me that. They even gave me the tools to fit it there and then. Highly recommended.

i've ridden plenty of twin shock bikes with hagons, and they're fine, and last for ages.

never heard of anyone fitting one to an 1150, but they do have a very poor reputation for longevity when fitted to airhead GSs :nenau
