Has anyone been watching 'The Hairy Bikers' on BBC2 on Wednesday nights? It's a program about 2 'northern' guys ridding in different parts of the world and cooking food in different locations. Not a big fan of cooking programs but this is rather different; I have been enjoying the program on the whole :thumb .

They have mainly been using 1200GS's and on the last program whilst riding in Turkey one of the bikes had a brake fault. He implied that the brake warning lamps had come on and he had no brakes. They then left the bike after making a phone call only for him to have it back the next day saying it had been fixed.

Not good publicity for BMW! Has anyone got any ideas what may have been wrong? It was a shame they did not say more. BMW may not have wanted them to say or the BBC may have just edited it out as it wasn't very exciting and non GS owners probably wouldn't care anyway.

Sometimes happens when the hand guard gets a knock and fouls the brake lever, causing the safety system to cut in leaving residual braking only  Same with the rear brake switch getting fouled by mud, affecting its operation :nenau

At least it wasn't electric arc welding on the sub-frame and a consequential feck-up of the ABS brain like what happened to Ewan McYedi and Boorman on their wee jaunt.
