I want to repair a failed bean can, Now that Honeywell do not make the 2AV54, anyone used a satisfactory replacement? Recently there are ads on Ebay but no name of manufacturer. I have seen others but would like to get one that someone has used and are pleased with. Thanks.

I bought one from Greece and had it fitted in Namibia. It got me back to Europe so that’s a thumbs up from me

There are electronic versions available which do away with the can altogether..

I have half a dozen CYHME56 sitting in the drawer if you are struggling to find something
They recommended to fit a 1K ohm resister between the mains power and trigger
Which I did on mine and it worked fine

Thank you for your offer. not sure which way to go yet, hoping for some more feedback but it does not seem many people repair their beancans.

Thankfully I keep a spare bean can, somewhere in the garage. This now reminds me to dig it out.

I like the bit where he goes looking for "the little pin" and tells his assistant to stop filming but finds it just then. In my case the little pin will have wedged itself under something and I'll be wondering why the f**k I even bothered . Nonetheless, I do have a spare can and have been meaning to do this for a while. I wonder how that epoxy will hold up with all the heat it will be getting, I thought he'd have done a bit of riveting.
