Hall Sensor Connectors

I have a 2000 model 1150GS and have a couple of spare hall sensors that I’ve picked up at some timer point. Now that I have some time and have looked at them, I’ve realised that both have the newer connector fitted and I’m expecting mine to need the old flat connector.

I would like to make up an adapter - newer socket and older plug, if you can imagine that, so does anyone know where I could source the parts and what they are called?

I think you will find that the R1150 range came with the hall sensor with the newer style connector, which is a Sealed Micro-Quadlock-system (MQS)

I think the older style connector was used on the earlier R1100 models.

Might be worth confirming which type of connector your bike has before going down some unnecessary rabbit hole just to make an adaptor lead which if used could cause you all sorts of problems.

Thanks for the info, Ian. I’m assuming that, since mine was a very early 1150, it is very likely to have the older version. The 1150 parts fiche indicates that both types were fitted and I’m wanting to be able to take a spare on longer trips ‘just in case’ so the adapter lead seemed a simple idea - it’s the same 6 wires after all.

Reasonable idea, but i think in the time it took to post the Q, you could have pulled the tank off, accessed the wiring and confirmed what your bike has.
Unless you are actually thinking of make adaoptor leads for anybody to use, which if you have multiple would be a good idea.
