Hall sensors

Just wondered if anyone wanted a defective hall sensor plate to repair and keep as a spare. one sensor is u/s but the other ok I have marked the defective one.
it is from my 2003 R850R. 6 Speed. same as 1150.
the type can be seen on motorworks site part no. ELA73227.
there is a number on the sensor plate Bosch. 0232101098. PGI.
free to collector or send money to cover postage.
it failed when I was in the French Alps, 27000 miles.

Anyone had any dealings with Chen Yang Technologies in Munich? They have the latest variant HE sensors to replace the old Honeywell 2av54's and prices seem good at €10 each - even better if ordering more than 4 at a time...

I had a batch of 6 that I used 3 off thinking I'd screwed up doing them in an airhead, they worked okay at tickover in airheads but cut out at 1800 revs Chen Yang sent me 2 over FOC when I complained and they worked okay

They seemed to work okay on Oilheads though

Remember what I said about Airheads I am not sure they cured that issue that I had but they suggested that I fit a 1 K ohm resistance between the two live circuits even if it still happened

They list the new one as CYHME56C to give "better resistance to magnetic interference" than the CYHME56. What one have you tried? Nice to know there is a replacement.

Going a step further than replacing just the vane sensor, there are a bunch of Greeks who appear to sell BNIB HESs on Ebay for a hell of a lot less than the OEM kit......when you reduce the full OEM HES item to its consituent parts (a metal plate, a pair of vane sensors, some heat shielded wiring and a multiplug) then it's hard to understand why a new OEM one is so much flippin' money (and that's a Motorworks price, not a main dealer one )

That's the price I paid from motorworks £191 + P&P. I had already replaced the plug leads at £93 a pair + p&p. BMW prices are a piss take. And I'm used to Harley prices, but at least there's several company's that do pattern parts at half the price.

I've just got one from them for my poorly lebbun fiddy, hope to get it fitted soon but it looks all shiny & new & half the price of elsewhere.
